I Could Be The One

I am often very fascinated with skins even though they are always a big challenge for me trying to look fabulous in them without adjusting my shape.  I would rather not do it, but this does not stop me from trying new skins.  I just love the feeling of absolute satisfaction, and somewhat infatuated with the way I look.  It's madness, I know.  

In this photo, I am wearing Skin Doris' Sunkissed tone with Make Up 01 from Diamond Style on my regular shape.  I like the crimson, subtle yet elegant look that closely describes my motto "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication".  Skin Doris has four skin tones and 6 make-ups each.  Demos are available in the store.  Go try them out.

What is Hope For Emilia?

HOPE FOR EMILIA is an exciting event in Second Life that will last from July 22 to August 9, 2012 and will include a Summer Fashion Fair, fashion shows, an art expo and entertainment events to fundraise for the victims of earthquake in Emilia, Italy.

As most of the world is aware, the northern region of Italy has been hit by devastating earthquakes during the last several months.

The first earthquake, registering a magnitude of 6.1, struck in the Emilia-Romagna region, on May 20th of 2012.

Two aftershocks with a magnitude of 5.2 occurred a few hours after the main event, and seven people were killed.

Nine days later, on May 29th, an additional earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 struck the same area causing an additional eighteen deaths and widespread damage, particularly to buildings already weakened by the May 20th earthquake.

And again on June 3rd, 4th and 6th,  aftershocks struck the region, causing panic among terrified people, who still don’t know if this incubus is going to continue.

The damages of these earthquakes are terrible: 26 people died, and thousands are homeless, living in tents.  The whole economy of the country was brought to its knees.

“Hope for Emilia” aims to fundraise to help the many victims of the earthquakes: 100% of the funds raised with this event will be donated to victims of the earthquake through the bank account opened by Emilia-Romagna region (http://www.regione.emilia-romagna.it/terremoto/la-raccolta-fondi-della-regione-come-donare).

Compulsive Shopping Is A Disorder (CSD)?

Most women love shopping, and so do I. Sometimes buying new things give me a euphoric feeling.  Occasionally I will reward myself by breaking my budget to buy something I really love and want.  But, to think of myself of having CSD is totally out of the issue.   Quite often I would comment about something beautiful but walk away without buying it.  I know what are the must-haves and nice-to-haves.  I will never feel intensely deprived or upset if I put off buying something.  Shops will not like me, for sure. 

I went gaga when I saw this top!  Turquoise is one of my favourite colours and I love this design!  I am one who would always buy any rare colour outfits.  This ensemble I'm wearing is a mix and match of turquoise top, white mini skirt and a pair of colourful leggings.

Why do parents dress up twins the same?

Twins already look alike, why do many people dress them the same?    Shouldn't they have their own identities?  At least, it would be easier to tell them apart. If twins own different outfits, they could share each other's wardrobe and this could save much more money than buying everything in double. ..... I am really curious....

I haven't blog for quite a bit now.  The hot and humid weather at 37 degree celcius has made it quite impossible to sit for longer hours in front of the pc working or enjoy SL without sweating.  It just killed the fun.  Just today, my bff (she's not my twins) called me and told me about this store.  When two lass go shopping together, it's very likely that they would end up buying the same thing.  But then, the good thing is, this delicate top comes in a choice of 10 colours!  It looks pretty! .... and 'feels' great ....  in a hot weather wearing light!  It's quite hard to separate rl and sl feelings, you know.

Piece By Piece

Sweet deal this weekend!  The lovely hair ornament and bracelet set which I am wearing is Elemental's Sixty Linden Weekend item this week, named Audrey.  The colour I am wearing is blue Tahitian pearls and peach moonstone.  The other two options also offered for Sixty Linden Weekend are white pearls & black onyx and violet Tahitian pearls & orange jasper.  For 60L, we get both the lovely hair piece and bracelet!

Fantasy style, anyone?

These fantasies skins, Katsucide, are the newest release from Acide!  I am not a very big fan of fantasy skins, but this one I am wearing is so gorgeous and it is one of the four donated skins for Fashion For Life.    Katsucide Sandra Cendre skin comes in three tones - light, tan and dark.  Each tone has a dozen fantastic make-ups.

The dress I am wearing is designed by Luna Barak of Fantavatar & Moonstruck, a brand dedicated to the medieval and fantasy role play themes.  This unique dress with a touch of modern fantasy style is donated to Fashion For Life fund-raising event.  Luna Barak has stated, "the dress is playful and coloured as much as the best attitude everyone fighting cancer should have.  And this has been mainly the idea behind them to give a positive and strong thinking."  

Any colour earrings just go well with this playful coloured dress with Elemental's texture changeable Sensuous Wind earrings which has four choices of gem colour.

I have enjoyed putting together this fantasy style and I think bald looks great and fits perfectly!

What is Fashion For Life?
Fashion For Life is the fashion arm of the Relay For Life movement in Second Life supporting the American Cancer Society.  It is a shopping event from 10th March to 20th March 2012.

Visitors to the event, can expect ...

• more than 200 stores spread over 10 sims; 
• gacha area in all sims for 10L - 100L each play for a transferable item;
• hunt item priced at 10L - 100L in the stores;
• raffles at 100L for one chance or 250L for three chances, to win one of the great prizes; 

"As the purse is emptied, the heart is filled"

Today is the 5th day of Fashion For Life.  I finally finished going around 200 stores over 9 beautiful sims, hopped over to the live on stage event, took a few snapshots, played gachas on all the sims and bought some beautiful items.  So those are the damages to my pocket.  I have to remind myself to tighten up my belt for harder times ahead since I am jobless now.  It began to feel so real... drawing an income in Second Life then loosing it and now being extra careful with how I spend.  But as Victor Hugo, a 19th century French Poet, put it - "As the purse is emptied, the heart is filled".  So, spending on FFL purchase is sure feeling good and feeling right!

This soft, feminine, gorgeous skin which I am wearing in this picture is by MYDEAR Skins.  The owner, Marisa Feila has designed Hygeia skin make up 7 in five skin tones for FFL.  Hygeia also comes in six other make-ups.  The whole skin line is MYDEAR's newest release on 10th March, the same day Fashion For Life opened.
