The Weather Man Says

In Amsterdam today, "the day time temperature is going to reach 4 degree Celsius and the temperature is going to dip to -1 degree Celsius at night......."

So I was out in my trench coat, scarf, hat and boots, exploring Amsterdam sim.  Yes, again!!!  There are two Amsterdam sims and Holland sim which are adjacent to one another.  I have just got to visit all to find some great spots for photo shoots.

Post Holidays Blues

Seven days into 2013 and I am still having post holidays blues.... or is it the weather that is affecting my mood?  I am dragging my feet and I can't seem to be working faster than I want to.

So I played with this collection of sculpted nails which I just got from Bamboo Nails.  It has a HUD with three exciting features.   A feature that allows me to paint an individual nail or all nails from the five choices of colour polishes, change the length of the nails and of course the size can be changed too.  Please see pictures below on how the HUD looks.  Bamboo Nails has many other collections with similar features in a HUD worth checking out at their main store. 

If painting nails can change one's mood, then that did!  I got myself dressed in these giraffe texture outfit and matching brown boots then adorned with a necklace and put on my sunglasses and there I was, off to Amsterdam to continue my exploration.     

The end result was a minimalist chic look ....as quoted by Leonardo Da Vinci "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" .... no?

This is my only pair of grey colour jeans.  It's designed by Jada Humby of J.H. Couture and it's mesh.  Grey is not my favourite colour .... in SL... needn't I say why?  But the detailed texture of this jeans is simply awesome and I have to compliment Jada for the fabulous work.  

I picked a black sheer off-shoulder sculpted top to match the jeans and adorning the style with a silver leaves necklace, quilted leather tote bag and black stilettos.  And the end result of these ensemble is a casual, sexy, chic and.... so very wearable style!

I am done

Here I am ... wearing another new skin that I love sooo much!  It's from MyDear.  This is the 3rd skin I have from MyDear and all of them fit my shape like custom made!  This MyDear's Grette Skin is high quality and realistic!!  Of course, it doesn't come with a beauty mole.  :)))

The top and pants which I am wearing are mix and match mesh items from J.H. Couture.  These, too, are fabulous.... the very fine knits texture is so high quality that makes me feel its warmth against my real life skin!  The other non-mesh items I am wearing in this picture are my hair and shoes.

I discovered my PC can no longer run the newer versions of Firestorm viewer or Linden Lab viewer.  After more than 3 years following each upgrades, I've come to a standstill at version 3.2.1.  The only solution for me is to upgrade my hardware, but I can't be sure if I will get crashes then.  What I have now is quite enough... few crashes and my snapshot images are not too bad.  So... until I can afford to upgrade my hardware, this is it! 

Timeless Style

I'm wearing this new skin named Irene Skin created by Marisa Feila of MyDear Skin Store for the first time today.  It looks gorgeous on my shape and I'm so delighted as it fits like custom made for me!   I first knew  Marisa from Fashion For Life with Hygeia Skin.  You will be seeing me more in skins from MyDear now. 

This vest is absolutely fabulous!  Made of sculpty and high quality texture by HelenSue Helendale of DEW Designs.  With the current craze on mesh clothes, I almost got "fooled" that it was made of mesh until I checked with the designer.  The vintage-inspired vest has a script for resizing, comes in 3 colour choices - white, brown and black.  All the colours are gorgeous!

Completing this vintage look is a pair of fine quality mesh boots from J.H. Couture.  I love this look I've put together, do you?  (= big grins =)

What is Fashion For Life?
Fashion For Life is the fashion arm of the Relay For Life movement in Second Life supporting the American Cancer Society.  It is a shopping event from 10th March to 20th March 2012.

Visitors to the event, can expect ...

• more than 200 stores spread over 10 sims; 
• gacha area in all sims for 10L - 100L each play for a transferable item;
• hunt item priced at 10L - 100L in the stores;
• raffles at 100L for one chance or 250L for three chances, to win one of the great prizes;

Today is the 5th day of Fashion For Life.  I finally finished going around 200 stores over 9 beautiful sims, hopped over to the live on stage event, took a few snapshots, played gachas on all the sims and bought some beautiful items.  So those are the damages to my pocket.  I have to remind myself to tighten up my belt for harder times ahead since I am jobless now.  It began to feel so real... drawing an income in Second Life then loosing it and now being extra careful with how I spend.  But as Victor Hugo, a 19th century French Poet, put it - "As the purse is emptied, the heart is filled".  So, spending on FFL purchase is sure feeling good and feeling right!

This soft, feminine, gorgeous skin which I am wearing in this picture is by MYDEAR Skins.  The owner, Marisa Feila has designed Hygeia skin make up 7 in five skin tones for FFL.  Hygeia also comes in six other make-ups.  The whole skin line is MYDEAR's newest release on 10th March, the same day Fashion For Life opened.

Yesterday Once More

Some of the best fashion are not born on the catwalk, it was said.  The accessories adorned are the icing that sets the style alight.  Perhaps this best described the classic elegant midi length grey dress designed by Ms. Jada Humby from J.H. Couture.  Simple fine cut, high quality texture and the best thing is, this is a mesh dress.

Look at me and love what you see!!

This is absolutely the most gorgeous tube dress that I have ever come across in SL!  It totally swept me off my feet when I put it on. The texture is very high quality, it is very obvious in my pictures (fyi, I don't do photo-shopping except cropping).  You would also probably wonder why there isn't a prim attachment at the bottom of the dress.  Well, this is the fabulous thing about rigged mesh we just got to learn to love mesh!  

Jada Humbly of J.H. Couture has designed this mesh tube dress complete with a resizeable belt in 10 gorgeous colours .  All else are perfectly done.  Thumbs up, Jada!
