Life Doesn't Stop

I have styled myself up and done my photo shoots days before today.  I was just short of something to write.  It's like a writer's block.  Then, out of the blue today, my doubts which had been lingering for two years were finally removed.  Many things which I had experienced in Second Life were like a tested hypothesis.  Nevertheless, whatever happens in our lives, we must never stop hoping and working towards a better life.

Legal Insanity @ Fashion For Life 2013

On 9th March at 12pm SLT, Fashion For Life will open its doors in Second Life.  Without fail, the fashion community in Second Life has been tirelessly working together to make this an annual event raising funds for the American Cancer Society.  For that, I say hats off to everyone involved.

My Dear skin has a new release named Jillian.  I am wearing it on this shape which I specially made for the skin.  I have named the shape Gillian and it actually has the same eyes appearance as the shape I made earlier.  I thought it would be quite fun to make one with some resemblances to each other like a family often has.  You may find both shapes at Marketplace.

Dispelled!

It's Fashion Voodoo .... may be I am just a little too paranoid when I see the word "voodoo".  I guess it's because it's Hungry Ghost Festival (中元节）for the Chinese.  The festival falls in the 7th month of the Lunar Calendar, and today is the 7th day of the 7th month; generally Hungry Ghost Festival  is observed from the 1st to the 14th of the month. 

According to Chinese beliefs, the gates of hell are unlocked and ghosts and spirits are let to wander among the living during this period.  The superstitious would stay indoors at night or refrained from staying out late at night to avoid stepping on these ghosts and spirits.  At the same time, the festival is also celebrated in an "elaborated" way, or rather, a "bizarre" way on the street.  Rituals offerings of food and entertainment such as Chinese Puppet Show on the street are held by some local communities.  One may wonder why all the weeks-long entertainment but front row VIP seats are always empty with drinks and snacks in place.  Well, guess what?  They are reserved for VIP -Very Invisible Persons!!  The Chinese Puppet Show is getting rare in recent years and it is replaced with singing and dancing on a stage.  

The celebration continues until the last day of the festival with burning of incense and hell paper money, hell paper clothes, and more recently - hell paper mobile phones, or any 'luxury' items the mind could imagine, for the spirits to use in their world.  Once, I even saw LV Monogram prints on some LV-design paper handbags!  The festival is not only kind of scary but quite amusing too.

It seems I've went over the top today.  I am supposed to write about Legal Insanity at Fashion Voodoo in Second Life.  Yes, the event is still running until August 30th.  Legal Insanity has this exclusive Miami dress in a choice of eight colours selling at the event.  The dress is very pleasing and comfy to the eyes.  It's so versatile that you can dress up and style yourself in any style you like to suit any occasions and you will still look lovely!

Meshy Affair

I consider myself not an impulse shopper.  May be I am at times, but this rarely happens.  When Collabor88 announced its May editions, I just had to go over and get those few things that caught my eyes.  My teleport failed the first time.  It said the region is full!  And when I finally did get there, I was stucked in heavy lag.  Many have gone super frenzy over shopping at Collabor88, obviously!  This experience seems familiar, like going to a grand fair except we were not warned to remove scripts and wear low lag outfits.  

In a small area like Collabor88, it's easy to see the cluster of shoppers.  Many have "missing" body parts, some of them got their nipples exposed.  That was a meshy affair!  Good news is, many have grown to love mesh outfits like I do.  The bad news is, my viewer (3.2.1), even though it supports mesh view, but it has a bug where mesh queue always appears whenever there are too many mesh objects loading.  Sure, the bug is fixed after upgrading to a newer version but my problems is, my PC hardware is at its maximum now.  Unless I upgrade my PC, otherwise these "ugly sights" will always crop up.

For the love of mesh, I got four new items in mesh again.  Take a look at the list of things I have on me.

This is my only pair of grey colour jeans.  It's designed by Jada Humby of J.H. Couture and it's mesh.  Grey is not my favourite colour .... in SL... needn't I say why?  But the detailed texture of this jeans is simply awesome and I have to compliment Jada for the fabulous work.  

I picked a black sheer off-shoulder sculpted top to match the jeans and adorning the style with a silver leaves necklace, quilted leather tote bag and black stilettos.  And the end result of these ensemble is a casual, sexy, chic and.... so very wearable style!

What a day!

Today, 29th February 2012, marks a leap day, an extra day added to February every four years (that is every leap year).  Happy Leap Year!!  And also.... Happy Birthday to those who were born on this day!!  I know... everyone likes to joke around about people whose birthday today.  I don't know of anyone who was born on this day in real life or rezz day in SecondLife.  Do they really celebrate their birthdays once in four years??

    

My style of the day is a blue mesh dress.  I absolutely love this blue and it's hard to find it in the stores.  The dress is a one whole piece worn with an alpha attachment.  I like mesh tight skirts and dresses as they don't have any prims attached to the base pants bottom which often don't look very fine.  I am also wearing a mesh hair in the picture.  Hair is the easiest and nicest thing to wear as I don't have to edit my head or my body!
