Wandered Out

There is no end to things we can explore in Second Life and this is what makes Second Life so interesting.  Having said that, on the other hand, one may also feels bored especially when one is aimless.

I love it most when I could dress up in my new outfits, step out to explore a new place and snap some nice photos.  And today is just that wonderful day!  No posing in front of a textured board for photo shoots. There is less privacy though.  Sometimes I get people blocking my camera view and sometimes I get people IM me or sending friendship request.  All these could take up a lot of my time, unless I have plenty of time to spare at that moment, I don't really mind.  It can be quite interesting and amusing to have a few small chats with polite passers-by.    

Today I am all dressed, suitably, for this sim named Dryland.  I am wearing a mix and match, a top from La Estrella and a long pants I bought from Designer Circle recently.  The cropped knit top and shirt is an attached piece with fine quality textures.  This cute top is available in three other knits colour besides this brown-beige one on me.  The other colours are Indian red, pink and slate blue.  And ... oh my!  There are so many options in each one sold .... two sweater textures and three shirt textures in beige, grey and black.  If this sound too complicated for you, no worries!  Just head to the main store to try a free demo or get it at Marketplace.  But really, don't miss it ... it's only L$150 for all those options.

Dryland

Dryland is a new sim created by the talented Anita Witt.  As the name itself already tells that it is an arid land, so it is impossible to find green lush growth around but it is interesting enough to find other landmarks built on this sim.  

Just when I was wandering about and mesmerized by the surrounding, it began to rain!  Whaaat ....??!!  Did I bring the rain here?  I had to cover my head and run for shelter! 
    

ummmmh.... yes.. it was me who brought the rain!

Well, my friend made this mesh handbag that comes with the rain, pose and a menu with options that controls the facial expression.  The non-rigged mesh belt I am wearing is also made by my friend and it is resizeable.  They are both available for sale on Marketplace.

Dryland

A giant dry lake bed, a parched and barren place where hulks of rusted ships rest on dried, cracked mud. A once desert island with decayed warehouses now holds art galleries, while the surrounding landscape hosts gypsies, carnies and tradespeople. This is Dryland, the new sim design by Anita Witt.

Legal Insanity has just added this low-rise loose pants screaming of style, fearless and freedom to its staple of pants for girls.  Named Hari, the full mesh pants is available in seven different colours.  I chose to wear the Rose colour pants matched with white tank top, adorned with a huge pair of earrings, long necklaces and bangles, slipped in to a pair of strappy stiletto heels and teased up my hair with ice cream colors.

There is still hope for Emilia

ALB Dream Fashion and Modish are among the 71 designers who have participated in the Hope For Emilia event, raising fund for the earthquake victims in Italy.  They are the highlights of my blog post today.

The colourful outfit exhilarating to the eyes is a special set designed by AnaLee Balut where 100% profits goes to the victims. There are 7 items in the set - coat, pants, ballerina flats which are mesh, a corset top in 3 shirt layers and prim headband, arm bracelet and earrings.   I have put together two styles - the first photo is the original complete wear and the other is my own mix and match ensemble.

Paving my way

Why do parents dress up twins the same?

Twins already look alike, why do many people dress them the same?    Shouldn't they have their own identities?  At least, it would be easier to tell them apart. If twins own different outfits, they could share each other's wardrobe and this could save much more money than buying everything in double. ..... I am really curious....

I haven't blog for quite a bit now.  The hot and humid weather at 37 degree celcius has made it quite impossible to sit for longer hours in front of the pc working or enjoy SL without sweating.  It just killed the fun.  Just today, my bff (she's not my twins) called me and told me about this store.  When two lass go shopping together, it's very likely that they would end up buying the same thing.  But then, the good thing is, this delicate top comes in a choice of 10 colours!  It looks pretty! .... and 'feels' great ....  in a hot weather wearing light!  It's quite hard to separate rl and sl feelings, you know.

This is my only pair of grey colour jeans.  It's designed by Jada Humby of J.H. Couture and it's mesh.  Grey is not my favourite colour .... in SL... needn't I say why?  But the detailed texture of this jeans is simply awesome and I have to compliment Jada for the fabulous work.  

I picked a black sheer off-shoulder sculpted top to match the jeans and adorning the style with a silver leaves necklace, quilted leather tote bag and black stilettos.  And the end result of these ensemble is a casual, sexy, chic and.... so very wearable style!

Face Reading

Face reading was an ancient Chinese practice used in medicine.  But it has evolved over the years.  In current times, face reading is adopted as part of feng shui analysis (Chinese fortune-telling).  Each face is like a map, the facial feature reveals a person's character and personality traits.  It is also believed that face reading could help to unlock a person's future, fate and fortune.  To my knowledge, there are men who would get their eyebrows plucked to "correct" their fate.  Most of us, in some ways, are face readers ourselves.  We meet new people everyday, the first impressions forms part of a non-verbal communication which makes us like or dislike a person.

In Second Life too, we choose skins that we like for our avatar and we form some of our impressions about the characters from these faces.  And so... here, you are seeing me in this picture, wearing a new skin by MyDear which is named Justina, with my regular shape.  So .... if every face has a story to tell ... what would it be for this?

Here I am ... wearing another new skin that I love sooo much!  It's from MyDear.  This is the 3rd skin I have from MyDear and all of them fit my shape like custom made!  This MyDear's Grette Skin is high quality and realistic!!  Of course, it doesn't come with a beauty mole.  :)))

The top and pants which I am wearing are mix and match mesh items from J.H. Couture.  These, too, are fabulous.... the very fine knits texture is so high quality that makes me feel its warmth against my real life skin!  The other non-mesh items I am wearing in this picture are my hair and shoes.

I discovered my PC can no longer run the newer versions of Firestorm viewer or Linden Lab viewer.  After more than 3 years following each upgrades, I've come to a standstill at version 3.2.1.  The only solution for me is to upgrade my hardware, but I can't be sure if I will get crashes then.  What I have now is quite enough... few crashes and my snapshot images are not too bad.  So... until I can afford to upgrade my hardware, this is it! 

Timeless Style

I'm wearing this new skin named Irene Skin created by Marisa Feila of MyDear Skin Store for the first time today.  It looks gorgeous on my shape and I'm so delighted as it fits like custom made for me!   I first knew  Marisa from Fashion For Life with Hygeia Skin.  You will be seeing me more in skins from MyDear now. 

This vest is absolutely fabulous!  Made of sculpty and high quality texture by HelenSue Helendale of DEW Designs.  With the current craze on mesh clothes, I almost got "fooled" that it was made of mesh until I checked with the designer.  The vintage-inspired vest has a script for resizing, comes in 3 colour choices - white, brown and black.  All the colours are gorgeous!

Completing this vintage look is a pair of fine quality mesh boots from J.H. Couture.  I love this look I've put together, do you?  (= big grins =)

The Rose Theatre

The Rose Theatre is a vast two-sim extravagant palace of pure opulence and craftsmanship. Come visit the many performance venues, including the Ballroom and Opera House as well as a Grand Hall for live music performances. There are also art galleries with a monthly rotation of works and exhibitions, beautiful gardens and much more to explore.

Stylishly Pregnant!

I have been hearing my bff ranting about maternity clothes, how unfashionable they look and how hard it is to try fitting into her old dresses, skirts, jackets and any prim outfits, with her growing belly.  I really can't imagine how many times she had to hit '+5%' on the resize menu.  And what about those prims without any resize script?  

So  my friend didn't buy herself any clothes from the maternity wear store.  On two occasions I sported her showing off her baby bump in these two regular outfits and she adapted comfortably in them with style!

This dress has proven to be very "user-friendly" with little efforts to adjust the skirt prim, as I was told.  The baby bump is hidden in this babydoll-like dress.  

She looks absolutely stunning in these ensembles with the baby bump and sure is catching a lot of attention!

The quality of these outfits are great for what we are paying for!  The purple sculpted sequins top can be worn in two ways - as a top or as a short skirt, as shown in my two pictures below.  In my previous blog post, I have featured a similar top dress by the same designer - Carolina Kayor of C&F.  A must buy for those of us who have a budget to watch.
